2014 Harvest Begins
Sat Sep 27th at 10:30 AM
On a spectacular day, anyone would have thought we had booked the weather, bright sunny and warm?
Our trusty team of family & friends started to pick the 2014 crop. With teams picking, sorting and moving the grapes around the site to end up in the winery.
The sugars in the Solaris and Rondo in the mid 70 Oechsle and good levels of acids the wine making process started just after lunch.
The Ortega sugars were a little low but nothing to worry about still in the early 70’s but need a lot of processing/sorting to get only the best grapes into the press.
Sunday saw the complete pressing of the Rondo and the start of the Ortega All in all by mid Monday 1.45 Tonnes of grapes had been processed and 1,040L of must are in the various tanks.
